VARA Dubai taps Securitize for tokenization expertise

Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), and Securitize Corp. (“Securitize”) (NYSE: SECZ), a global institutional tokenization platform, signed an MoU to support tokenization infrastructure in Dubai UAE.

As per the announcement, both entities will collaborate through knowledge sharing, ecosystem developement and regulatory engagement to advance responsible innovation in tokenization.

Licensed market participants will have access to Securitizes’ global expertise while maintaining high standards of market integrity and investor protection. Both entities have agreed to explore opportunities that will support tokenization initiatives within Dubai. This would include projects either initiated or facilitated by VARA.

Securitize is working with several entities on tokenization. One such entity is The Trump International Hotel & Resorts in Maldives. It will be tokenized by Securitize Inc, a RWA tokenization platform. World Liberty Financial (“WLFI”) made the announcement alongside DarGlobal PLC (LSE: DAR), an international luxury real estate developer.

Securitize currently manages over $4.9 billion to $5 billion in assets under management (AUM). As an SEC-registered broker-dealer, digital transfer agent, operator of an Alternative Trading System (ATS), and fully registered Investment Adviser (RIA), and is working with the world’s largest asset managers to fractionalize private funds including The BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund.

Other forms of cooperation would include ecosystem development, talent attraction, market education, data driven research and the evolution of tokenized financial products operating within Dubai’s regulatory framework.

Carlos Domingo, Co-Founder and CEO of Securitize noted that as tokenization moves from concept to mainstream financial infrastructure the collaboration between regulators and industry becomes increasingly important. He noted that Securitize is proud to be supporting VARA and its vision.

Mathew White, CEO of VARA Dubai also noted that it is Dubai’s ambition to ensure the future of financial markets will be shaped not only by news technologies but by regulatory frameworks to ensure confidence.

He explained,” Through our collaboration with Securitize we are supporting the development of regulated tokenised markets and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global centre for capital markets.”

Recently VARA Dubai was accepted as an Associate Member of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), another development that could mark an important step in Dubai’s effort to position itself not only as a crypto hub, but as a future centre for regulated tokenized capital markets.

VARA said the membership strengthens its engagement with the global regulatory community and gives it a platform to exchange perspectives, share supervisory experience and contribute to international discussions on the evolving virtual assets landscape.
