OFZA crypto exchange joins Dubai’s Digital Asset Association

OFZA Fintech Virtual Asset Exchange LLC (OFZA), a UAE-based regulated Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP), has joined the Dubai Digital Asset Association (D2A2) as a member and signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to actively support D2A2’s role as a neutral coordination platform for the country’s virtual asset ecosystem.
D2A2 plays a key role in bringing together operators, builders, and stakeholders to facilitate informed dialogue and collective learning.
As per the OFZA LinkedIn post, OFZA will contributed operational insight, institutional experience and active participation in D2A2 initiatives, industry discussions, working groups, and knowledge sharing forums.
“Industry ecosystems mature when participants move beyond individual perspectives and invest in shared understanding, so lessons learned are carried forward and the ecosystem can evolve more coherently over time.” said Amir Tabch CEO of OFZA.
Saqr Ereiqat, Secretary General at D2A2, added, “Active participation from Vara regulated members such as OFZA strengthens the quality of discussions and supports more informed, coordinated outcomes for the ecosystem.”
D2A2 includes members such as Crypto Oasis, Rain, CoinMENA, BitOasis, XDC, XinFin, Karm, NOIA, GZEX, Equiti, and now OFZA. Its chairman is Gaurang Desai who is also the Founding member (and CEO) of the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) as well as advisor to the UAE’s Securities & Commodities Authority (SCA).
In March 2024, Dubai Digital Assets Association (D2A2), supported by Dubai Chamber of Commerce held a forum on the one-year anniversary of VARA (Virtual assets regulatory authority) in Dubai. It provided a platform for industry stakeholders to review and analyze the development of the regulatory landscape for virtual assets and the challenges industry is facing.
OFZA also partnered this month with Trakx to research crypto tradable Index Methodologies
This is not the first partnership for OFZA this month, last week OFZA entered into a non-binding strategic collaboration with Trakx, a global fintech company registered with the French financial markets regulator (AMF). The collaboration focuses on research and industry discussion around thematic virtual asset index methodologies. Crypto Tradable Indices (CTIs) apply rules-based methodologies to analyse defined segments of the virtual asset market. These methodologies rely on transparent selection, weighting and rebalancing criteria. Trakx specialises in the research, design and governance of Crypto Tradable Index methodologies.
Under the collaboration, OFZA and Trakx will contribute research and perspectives on index design principles, governance considerations, transparency standards and high-level risk frameworks relevant to thematic virtual asset indices.
