Binance commenced crypto regulatory discussions in Lebanon

In February of 2026 Binance crypto exchange executives met with Lebanon’s Minister of Economy, Amer Bisat to discuss crypto regulations in the country and what this could mean for Lebanon’s growing crypto ecosystem.
In a post shared after the meeting, Bisat said crypto trading among Lebanese is “significant and growing.” He noted that this trend could open the door to deeper financial markets, wider investment options, and more modern payment systems.
He also noted that discussions with Binance focused on the regulatory path forward including work already underway through the inter-ministerial committee. He stressed that the sector also brings financial, legal, and cross-border risks that must be properly managed.
Speaking to Lara on the Block, Binance noted, that Lebanon as a growing digital asset market, which is creating its regulatory framework, ” we have met with senior leaders in Lebanon and are monitoring the development of local regulations.”
Binance spokesperson added, ” We participate in regulatory consultations across the region and globally to help share best practices in the digital asset space and work to support fit for purpose crypto specific regulations. We would welcome the opportunity to do so in Lebanon.”
In 2023 according to Triple A 2.3% of the Lebanese population were using crypto. In a survey carried out by Cornell Bitcoin Club in 2025, respondents from 25 countries shared their views on whom they trust Bitcoin or their governments, and 10 out of 25 countries reported trusting Bitcoin more than their own governments including Lebanon. Lebanon, Brazil, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Phillipines, Turkey, Ukraine and Venezuala all trust Bitcoin more than their governments.
Binance also updates VIP Program eligibility thresholds
Recently as well Binance announced that it had updated its VIP Program eligibility thresholds and qualification framework. The refresh lowers key requirements and introduces new pathways designed to identify and support high-value users earlier as they scale their engagement across the platform. The changes also strengthen the competitiveness of the Binance VIP Program and make VIP benefits more attainable for a broader range of users.
“We are evolving our VIP Program to better recognize the broad base of high-value users contributing to Binance across trading, holdings, and investments, and to identify and support them earlier in their journey as they scale,” said Catherine Chen, Head of VIP and Institutional at Binance.
“By lowering key thresholds and updating holder criteria, we are widening the on-ramp to VIP benefits while keeping tier recognition tied to sustained, measurable engagement. These updates also help strengthen the liquidity and service experience that active participants rely on. Binance surpassed 300 million users in late 2025, and we are focused on reaching 1 billion users over time.”
