Tokenized investment structures coming to Qatar with Invest Qatar and Apex Group

Invest Qatar partners to boost Qatar’s asset servicing ecosystem
Invest Qatar, the country’s investment promotion agency, has partnered with apex group, a global financial services provider. It specializes in digital assets and tokenization of funds, strengthening Qatar’s asset servicing and financial services ecosystem.
This collaboration supports Qatar’s aspiration to be a leading regional hub for asset management, fund servicing, and digital financial solutions.
As per the announcement, Apex Group will expand its operations in Qatar. It will establish a regional office on Lusail Boulevard, creating roles in asset servicing and fund administration. It will also support other related financial services.
The collaboration between Invest Qatar and Apex Group aims to bring technology-enabled solutions to the market.
Apex Group will use its Apex Digital 3.0 capabilities to support next-generation fund servicing and digital asset operations. It will also enable tokenized investment structures.
Apex Group’s expanded presence builds on its entry into the Qatari market earlier this year.
It is the first regulated asset servicing company licensed within the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC).
Moreover, through this expansion, the Group will provide local and international funds access to its global expertise.
It will also support financial institutions seeking to establish regional operations in Qatar.
Sheikh Ali bin Alwaleed Al-Thani, CEO of Invest Qatar, noted that Apex group is opening regional offices in Qatar. Thus, this highlights the opportunities available to global firms seeking to scale in the region.
While Peter Hughes, Founder and CEO of Apex Group, added that Apex Group has seen a strong demand for their services, technology, and expertise especially among global asset managers, investors and institutions.
He added,” Through our partnership with Invest Qatar and our investment in a new Lusail office, we’re bringing together our global platform, digital capabilities and local presence to support innovation, collaboration and the continued development of Qatar’s financial services ecosystem.”
Just this month APEX Group administered Zamanat Fund CEIC Limited (the “Fund”), a DIFC-domiciled tokenized private credit fund on ZigChain with a target size of up to $100 million. The fund targets the GCC’s estimated $250 billion SME financing gap, with only 11 percent of SMEs across the region having access to credit. The Fund combines a regional private credit strategy, a DIFC fund structure, institutional administration and digital issuance on ZIGChain. It provides a first live demonstration of how regional private credit can be brought into a DFSA-regulated tokenized structure for Professional Clients.
The Fund is a DFSA-regulated closed-ended fund registered as an Exempt Fund and classified as a Credit Fund. It is managed by Truleum Venture Partners.
In September 2025, QNB Group ( Qatar National Bank), Standard Chartered and DMZ Finance, an RWA tokenization infrastructure provider, launched the Dubai International Financial Centre’s (DIFC) first regulated tokenized money market fund, the QCD Money Market Fund (units in QCDT).
