Oman launches national crypto mining pool on Enegix infrastructure

The Oman Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), has announced the launch of a Oman National crypto mining pool utilizing the technology platform of Enegix Global, a vertically integrated digital energy and infrastructure company.

Prior to this Enegix launched a similar operation in Kazakhstan for its national bitcoin mining pool.

So what will Omanhash.om do? it will operate as the sole official and mandatory mining pool for all licensed cryptocurrency mining companies in the Sultanate of Oman, subject to the approved regulatory framework.

The crypto mining pool is managed and operated in cooperation with Frontier Technologies LLC (Frontech), an Omani blockchain and Web3 company focused on advancing national technological goals, with Enegix Global serving as the technological and liquidity provider.

The pool is expected to consolidate approximately 10 EH/s of computing power in its initial phase, bringing Enegix Global’s combined pool operations to approximately 25 EH/s across its international portfolio, which includes 21pool.io, btcpool.kz, and now omanhash.om.

Oman has been one of the most active jurisdictions for large-scale crypto mining investment since 2022, as part of the country’s economic diversification agenda. Total investments in mining and data center infrastructure in the Salalah Free Zone have exceeded $700 million, including two major facilities launched in 2022 and 2023. Omanhash.om reflects the government’s next phase: consolidating this capacity within a regulated, transparent national framework.

Olzhas Amirov, CBDO of Enegix Global noted that this was the second sovereign mandate, and that they have been chosen by governments who want to regulate digital asset mining effectively while having the technical infrastructure and the institutional credibility to operate at that level.

He adds, “Clear licensing frameworks help miners operate legally, avoid excessive taxation, and establish transparent communication with authorities, which is critical for long-term energy and infrastructure stability. We are proud to support the Government of Oman in achieving that.”

Yersaiyn Nurtoleuov, CPO of Enegix Global also commented on the launch noting that Enegix’s combined mining pool is now 25 EH/s and their target is 30 EH/s

Gauhar Kagira, Director of Enegix Mining Pool ended by saying, “Omanhash.om is a significant milestone — not just for Oman, but for how sovereign states engage with Bitcoin mining as a strategic industry. We congratulate the Sultanate on becoming one of the first countries in the region to introduce a structured regulatory framework for miners, and we are proud to have led the technical execution of this launch.”

In 2025, Alps Blockchain, an Italian company that builds and operates mining farms to contribute the development of new technologies and the evolution of the energy sector, announced that its Bitcoin mining site in Oman became fully operational with 150 MW.
