Animoca Brands subsidiary receives UAE license for collective investment fund

The subsidiary of Animoca Brands, Animoca Asset Management (AD) Limited (AAM), has received a Financial Services Permission (FSP) by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of ADGM, in the UAE for a collective investment fund.
As per the announcement, the Financial Services Permission will allow Animoca Brands’ subsidiary AAM to carry out management of a collective investment fund from ADGM. The announcement notes that the FSP significantly extends Animoca Brands’ institutional capabilities and reinforces the company’s strategic expansion in the Middle East.
The FSP supports Animoca Brands’ mandate to build institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure, connect traditional financial institutions to decentralized networks, develop tokenized assets, and integrate agentic AI with Web3 environments to advance the future of digital property rights.
Minh Do, Senior Executive Officer and Director of AAM, noted that this was a critical milestone for their operations in the Middle East, as it would allow them to manage collective investment funds under a robust regulatory framework, bridging institutional capital with the future of the agentic web and digital assets.
Arvind Ramamurthy, Chief Market Development Officer at ADGM, welcomed Animoca Brands to ADGM noting that as digital assets become increasingly integrated into financial markets, ADGM looks towards supporting the firm’s growth and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a hub for innovation in digital finance.
In early 2026, Animoca Brands received its full license from Dubai’s Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority allowing it to offer crypto brokerage services as well as Virtual Asset Investment Management services.
